The importance of children

Why should it be that our culture so looks down upon children, when their speed of perception and response is so fast and so entire. It rather seems to me that once organized education takes over it is downhill all the way. I have always learned a lot from teaching children, i.e., paying attention to them; taking them seriously.


Some of my favorite pieces of musical advice came from children. For example: When do you play loud? Child: When it’s important.


And when do you play soft? pause for reflection… child: When it’s important.
